Before you buy
Straight answers
No hype, no promises about passing. Here's exactly what you're buying and how it behaves.
- Are these the actual DMV questions?
- No, and anyone who promises that is lying to you. State DMVs do not publish their live question pools. These are practice questions written from the same handbook material your state test is drawn from, so the topics, the phrasing style, and the numbers you have to know match what you'll face.
- Which exam do I actually need?
- General Knowledge is required for every CDL, Class A or Class B. Air Brakes removes the B restriction — without it you can't drive an air-braked vehicle. Passenger (P), HazMat (H), and Tanker (N) are endorsements you add on top, depending on what you intend to haul or who you intend to carry.
- How do I get in after I pay?
- You're given a private access code on the confirmation screen. This browser remembers it automatically, and a signed-in purchase is attached to your account. Keep the code as your receipt in case you switch devices.
- Do I have to make an account?
- No. An account is optional and free. It exists so your practice scores and retake history are kept, and so you can attach a code you bought as a guest. If you'd rather just study, use the code and skip the account.
- Can I retake a test?
- As many times as you want. Each attempt pulls a fresh mix of 50 questions from a bank of 100, and reorders both the questions and the answer choices, so you can't pass by remembering which letter you tapped last time — you have to know the answer.
- What's the pass mark?
- We mark a practice run as test-ready at 80%. Most states set their own written-test pass mark, commonly around 80%, so treat that as the bar — but check your state's number.
- Should I buy one exam or the bundle?
- One exam if you're sitting a single test soon. The bundle at $59 makes sense if you're going for a full CDL with endorsements, or you're helping someone else study — it's less than the cost of three bought separately.
- Do the numbers match my state's handbook?
- They're written from the widely published federal CDL manual figures, which most states follow. A few states add their own rules or different thresholds. Always read your own state's handbook before you sit the test — that document, not this one, is what your examiner goes by.
- Is this a subscription?
- No. One payment per exam or for the bundle, and the access code doesn't expire. No renewal, no auto-charge.
- What happens if an exam purchase is refunded?
- A full refund disables the access code and removes access from the attached account. See the Refund Policy for eligibility and details.
- Do you also teach driving?
- Yes. Alongside the prep material, SheDrivesSheRides runs hands-on CDL Class A and Class B training and drive-away and vehicle delivery services. If you want training rather than just test prep, use the contact page and say what you're after.
- I lost my access code.
- Contact us with the email address you paid with and we'll reissue it. That's also the address to use if a code isn't being accepted.
- Are you affiliated with the DMV?
- No. SheDrivesSheRides is an independent, woman-owned training business, not affiliated with or endorsed by any DMV or state agency.
Still deciding?
Start with the exam you're sitting soonest — it's the cheapest way to see whether the style of teaching works for you before committing to the full set.
